BidRush October Updates

Big Updates on BidRush: Easier Browsing, Bidding, and Cataloging

We had a standout inaugural auction in the Boston area, check out the results. Thanks to bidders and sellers who participated in that auction, we were able to make a number of improvements to make both bidding and selling on BidRush faster and smoother.

Here’s what’s new:

Massive Performance Updates for Bidders

Fast loading for bidders!

Browse All Auctions

You can now view all auctions at once!

  • Use the distance dropdown to set your preferred range — or select ALL to view every auction across the platform. (thanks to Jane for this suggestion)
  • Many auctions now include shipping, so distance doesn’t have to hold you back (always check details before bidding)!
  • Upcoming is removed (as sellers launch auctions so quickly without even a day of lead time required on BidRush!)
  • Fixed a bug to accommodate location scenarios (and distance shown to each auction) for auction display - when geolocated, when user enters a address, when user enters city/state, when user enters state/province, and when user enters country.

Better Bidding Experience

  • Winner instructions now appear right on your invoice page and in invoice emails — so you always know the next step (thanks to Lisa Boland for this suggestion)
  • Ability for bidders to submit their tax info for review (and tax not billed if tax info is uploaded) thanks to Robert K. for this suggestion.)
  • Place bids directly from your Bids and Watchlist page (thanks to Al for this suggestion)
  • Search results say Auction Name (which has the city) and State/Province (thanks to Craig Dawson for this suggestion)

Simplified Seller Tools

  • Accepting invites for Store/Auction members is now easier than ever. (thanks to Jenna for the testing)
  • Store owners can assign roles for cataloging, pickups, finance, and more — making teamwork seamless.
  • More stats: Number of "watch listers", % of items on watch lists (in addition to bidders and % with bids) (thanks to Ann for this suggestion)
  • Ability to refund just the tax components (for tax exempt buyers) (thanks to Jason Suderman for this suggestion)
  • Pickup report can be customized to add fields the seller wants (thanks to Al Kemp for this suggestion)

Cataloging Made Faster (especially on tablet/mobile)

We’re introduced new tools to reduce cataloging time:

  • Option to NOT auto increment lot number (thanks to Ann and Jenna for this suggestion)
  • Image rotation (thanks to Jenna for this suggestion)
  • Compact view for iPad
  • “Add Lot” and “Search” buttons stay visible for quick access
  • Lot count shown beside search
  • Jump directly to a newly created lot
  • Notifications for mobile
  • Confirmation dialog when deleting either lots/images or describing with AI
  • Ability to filter to just the lots you cataloged
  • Auction collage picture selection orders images by lot number (thanks to Jenna for this suggestion)
  • Facebook share of auction will now show all pictures selected (not just picture of first lot)

Our goal is to make cataloging just as smooth on tablets and phones as it is on desktop! (stay tuned for the seller app)
