It is a Model 1902 United States Army Officer's Sword, current from 1902 to present. It consolidated and replaced the Model 1872 Cavalry Officer's Sword, the model 1840 Mounted Artillery Officer's Sword, and the Model 1860 Staff and Field Officer's Sword. Military academies such as Texas A&M also use this as their standard cadet sword (West Point uses a different model, as does the Naval Academy). The Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps all have their own patterns of officer's swords as well.
