The artwork is an oil painting by the Scottish-born Canadian artist Adam Sherriff Scott (1887–1980). It depicts a rural Canadian fall scene, likely in Quebec, featuring a traditional farmhouse (habitant farm) with figures working the land under autumn-colored trees -Painting is 24 x 19 Background: He immigrated to Canada in 1912 and lived most of his life in Montreal. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy (RCA) and the Beaver Hall Group. Painting has a scratch near the top diagonal along the chimney . Frame size is 30” x 26”
