The jars feature the "Ball Ideal" logo embossed on the side. The blue-tinted jar is a classic "Ball blue" color, a characteristic of jars manufactured by the Ball Brothers Company in Muncie, Indiana. The age of these specific jars can be estimated by the style of the logo and other markings, with the "a" loop in the logo on the blue jar suggesting a date between 1910 and 1933. Original antique Ball “IDEAL” wire-bail canning jars, dating to the early 20th century (circa 1910–1920). Each jar retains its original glass insert lid and metal swing clamp closure. One example is in classic aqua glass and the other in clear glass, both embossed with the Ball script and IDEAL mark on the front. These jars were produced for home food preservation prior to the widespread adoption of metal screw-band lids and are now highly sought after for farmhouse décor, display, and early American kitchen collections. A genuine matched pair of early Ball bail-lid jars with excellent display appeal. Overall condition: good antique condition No visible cracks or structural damage in the glass Normal manufacturing bubbles and light waviness consistent with early glass Metal wire bails show original oxidation / surface rust Aqua jar shows heavier patina to the wire ring than the clear example Glass lids show normal surface wear from age Both jars remain structurally sound and display well Please review photos for full condition detail.
