Description

Up for auction is a beautiful antique porcelain shallow bowl (or rimmed coupe plate) crafted by the renowned Bawo & Dotter (Elite Works) factory in Limoges, France. This piece features the highly collectible and vibrant "Bird of Paradise" pattern, showcased by a detailed depiction of exotic paradise birds nestled among brilliant pink and purple blossoms in the center. The outer rim is adorned with matching floral sprigs and a distinct, intricate yellow-and-gold geometric border along the edge. The underside displays two crisp, authentic backstamps: 1. Green Factory Mark: "LIMOGES / ELITE / FRANCE" surrounding the St. Martial shield. 2. Red Decoration Mark: "ELITE WORKS / LIMOGES / FRANCE" overlaying the red St. Martial crest. Based on these specific markings, this piece was both manufactured and decorated at the Elite Works factory between 1920 and 1932. • Measurements: Approximately 7.5 to 7.75 inches in diameter (please refer to the ruler in the initial photo for precise sizing confirmation). • Condition: Excellent antique condition with bright graphics. No structural cracks or chips visible. Please examine all listing photographs carefully to assess the fine cosmetic details and minor rim wear typical of fine antique porcelain.
