New Hampshire area, late 18th century. Top section with cove molded flat cornice above five graduated drawers with incised beading, the lower section of two graduated drawers and deep blanket drawer with faux two-drawer facade, resting on bracket feet. Old finish, brass bail pulls appear original. Rough stippling on finish, an effect of age and varying temperature conditions. Purchased from the Savage family who lived on Savage Rd in Milford NH. There is a faint "bull's eye" drawn into the left side of the upper chest by one of the children with a compass, story goes that his parents weren't very happy with this. 40x20x82 overall. Heavy, bring appropriate help and vehicle to pickup. 2 pieces.
