Description

Item 1: Antique M.Z. Austria Porcelain Serving Bowl (Circa 1884–1909) An deep fine porcelain serving bowl crafted by the renowned Moritz Zdekauer (M.Z.) factory in Altrohlau, Austria (now Czech Republic). • Design: Features a heavily scalloped, undulating rim trimmed in a rich hunter green/teal glaze with a thick overlay of intricate 22K gold lace filigree. The interior is decorated with hand-painted pink cabbage rose garlands and golden laurel ribbons. • Marks: The base bears the clean, authentic green crown and double-headed eagle "M.Z. Austria" stamp, alongside handwritten artisan decorator marks. Item 2: 19th-Century Patriotic George Washington Bas-Relief Pitcher A highly sculptural antique all-white glazed historical jug commemorating early American history. • Design: The body showcases beautifully molded, crisp bas-relief panels on both sides—one side features a full-length portrait of General George Washington in military uniform with his sword, while the reverse depicts a colonial couple embracing. The most striking element is the ornate branch handle, topped by a fully formed, perched American Bald Eagle looking down over the spout. • Era: Circa 1850s–1870s Victorian Americana. -D
