Description

Antique matched pair of Doulton stoneware baluster vases featuring the highly collectible "Slater’s Patent" textured chiné lace technique. The textured body is meticulously detailed with hand-applied turquoise and white enameled floral motifs over a gilded tapestry background. The shoulders, trumpet necks, and bases are finished in a rich, glossy dark cobalt blue and olive green drip glaze. This inter-era matched pair shares the exact same production shape but showcases the factory's turn-of-the-century branding transition, making it a unique find for collectors. • Vase 1 (Edwardian Era): Features the impressed "Royal Doulton England" lion and crown mark (1902–1922). Stamped model number 3901, pattern code T 618, and bears the hand-incised "fg" monogram for senior artist Florrie Jones. • Vase 2 (Late Victorian Era): Features the earlier impressed circular "Doulton Lambeth England" rosette mark (1891–1902). Incised model number 3901, production code 5466, and bears a hand-incised assistant artist's mark.
