Description

Up for auction is a beautiful late 19th to early 20th-century antique wall mirror featuring a solid quarter-sawn tiger oak frame with gorgeous grain definition. The top of the frame is adorned with a prominent, hand-carved floral shell scroll crest typical of the Victorian and Art Nouveau eras. The heavy, original plate glass features a deep hand-beveled edge that beautifully catches and refracts light. The frame has soft, rounded upper corners with an elegant tapering profile along the sides. Condition Details: • Frame: Strong and structurally sound. The wood retains a lovely warm patina with minor age-appropriate surface wear. • Glass: The hand-beveled glass mirror is intact with no cracks or chips. There is light, character-rich aging/silver spotting visible on the reflective surface, authenticating its antique heritage. • Backing: Outfitted with its original solid wood panel backing, securely fastened around the perimeter by antique tacks. Dimensions: • Approx. 27 inches wide (at the base) A classic, versatile accent piece perfect for an entryway, mantle, or vanity display.
