The Downsizing Doula

The frame is 28" x 32", signed by the artist and note attached on the back states that in 1987, this framed, signed litho was valued at $1400. Looking online at his other signed works, and this is in order with that value. The title, is hard to make out, but I think it means the 'Happy Reunion'. More here on the artist: Michel Delacroix is a French artist known for his naïve style, which captures the charm and simplicity of street scenes in Paris and other nearby areas of France. Born in 1933 in Paris, France, he studied at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand. Delacroix's paintings often feature nostalgic depictions of city life, with a distinctive use of vibrant colors and a sense of warmth. Throughout his career, Delacroix received numerous accolades, including the Médaille d'Argent des Artistes Français in 1970 and the Prix des Sept Collines in Rome in 1976. He also worked on special projects, including commemorating the 350th Anniversary of Harvard University in 1986 and serving as the official artist for the 1995 Special Olympics World Games and the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta. Additionally, in 2001, he was the official artist for the White House’s Pageant of Peace and for the White House Annual Christmas Card. Delacroix's work has been exhibited widely, including at Art Expo New York (1980–2000) and Newbury Fine Arts in Boston (1986–1996), among other venues.
