Griffith's brand milk glass spice jars with red lids are highly collectible vintage kitchenware pieces, primarily produced in the United States from the late 1930s through the 1950s by Griffith Laboratories. These art deco-style jars, typically found in opaque white milk glass, feature block labels and square designs, and were sold individually or in sets ranging from 8 to 24 jars. Design and Production Period: Most Griffith jars are easily recognized by their carved fluting, boxy shapes, and distinctive labels, either paper or printed directly on the glass depending on vintage.Sets with red metal screw-on lids and smooth jar bases are original Griffith Laboratories designs, made in Chicago, Illinois.Typical dimensions for these jars are around 4¼” tall and 1¾” square.
