Pair of original aqua glass telegraph/telephone line insulators embossed HEMINGRAY – 19 and HEMINGRAY – 42. These classic American utility insulators were produced by the Hemingray Glass Company of Muncie, Indiana and widely used on communication and power lines throughout the early to mid-20th century. Both examples feature the traditional domed profile with threaded interior and skirted base. The No. 19 is the smaller example with a more rounded dome profile, while the No. 42 is the larger style with a more pronounced shoulder and thicker base. Each retains attractive blue-green/aqua coloration typical of early Hemingray production glass. These are authentic utility-grade insulators, not reproductions, and remain popular with collectors, industrial decor enthusiasts, and repurposed lighting designers. CONDITION Both insulators show honest utility wear consistent with prior outdoor use. There are minor surface scratches, small flea bites, and typical manufacturing bubbles visible in the glass. The Hemingray 19 example shows a small chip near the skirt edge as photographed. The Hemingray 42 shows light base wear and minor surface scuffing. No major cracks observed. Overall structurally sound with good display presence.
