20 x 24 original oil Antoine St-Gilles (born 1956) is a highly influential contemporary Canadian landscape artist, best known for his vivid depictions of Quebec villages and the rugged Canadian wilderness. He began painting at a very young age and held his first solo exhibition by age 23.Artistic Training & InfluencesSt-Gilles studied in Sainte-Foy, Quebec. His distinctive style was heavily shaped by mentoring under legendary Canadian landscape painters like Arthur Genest, Paul Brien, Mario Mauro, and especially Bruno Côté. Côté introduced him to the Charlevoix region, which became a central inspiration for his career. St-Gilles initially gained recognition for his watercolours but later transitioned to oil and acrylic painting.
