Description

beautiful, highly collectible 1940s Sun-Kraft Cold Quartz Ultraviolet Ray & Ozone Apparatus Health Lamp. Manufactured by Sun-Kraft Inc. of Chicago, Illinois, this iconic piece of mid-century industrial design exemplifies the "Machine Age" aesthetic with its polished chrome/aluminum frame and streaming aerodynamic lines. This specific lot is an exceptionally rare find for collectors because it includes the original protective leather-trimmed tanning goggles and the original vintage promotional brochure ("Modern Science's Great Achievement!"). Product Specifications • Brand: Sun-Kraft Inc. (Chicago, ILL.) • Model: A-1 (110V, 20W, Patented & Patents Pending) • Era: Circa 1940s / early 1950s • Dimensions: Stands approximately 16" tall with an 8" wide base • Features: Built-in adjustable timing dial switch (0 to 6 minutes), adjustable pivoting light-dome reflector capsule, and integrated dual-purpose carrying handle/floor stand. • Cosmetics: In very clean, excellent vintage condition. The polished metal casing retains a fantastic luster with only minor, expected surface scuffs, light pitting, and age-related wear consistent with its era. • Wiring: Retains its original cloth-insulated power cord. Please note: As with all historical electrical items, rewiring or a safety inspection is recommended if you intend to plug it in. • Accessories: The leather and glass protective goggles remain intact with pliable casing. The original paper brochure shows typical vintage folding creases but features gorgeous graphics and no major tears. Collector's Note While originally sold as an atomic-era medical cure-all device, these lamps are highly sought-after today by interior designers and steampunk hobbyists. They make spectacular accent pieces, statement conversational decor, or can be easily converted by a hobbyist into a striking industrial Edison-bulb desk lamp. Selling as-is as a historical medical collectible / decor piece. DO NOT USE AS A TANNING LAMP. YOU CAN RECEIVE DANGEROUS BURNS TO YOUR SKIN.
