Up for auction is a classic piece of mid-century industrial office equipment: an authentic No. 5 Precise Trimming Board, proudly manufactured by American Photo Laboratories of Chicago, U.S.A. This heavy-duty guillotine-style paper cutter is built with the rugged durability of a bygone era, making it an excellent addition to a working photography studio, a craft workshop, or an eye-catching piece of industrial decor. • Authentic Markings: The lower face features the crisp, original white lettering detailing the brand, model, and historical U.S. Patent numbers (2,185,985 / 2,304,262 / 2,327,000) dating back to the late 1930s and early 1940s. • Premium Construction: Crafted with a solid, heavy wooden deck finished in black lacquer, overlayed with a comprehensive white grid matrix and a metal-bordered top alignment ruler with clear 1/16-inch increments. • Mechanism: Equipped with a substantial, curved cast-iron cutting arm, a classic industrial spring-loaded tension hinge, and a molded handle designed for manual leverage. • Condition: Beautiful vintage condition. The grid board remains bright, sharp, and highly legible with minor surface scuffs from age. The cast-iron side rail, spring mechanism, and blade arm show a fantastic, untouched historical patina with very light oxidation that adds to its rustic character. The blade arm functions smoothly with excellent spring return action. • Size: No. 5 model with an approximately 15" x 15" square cutting bed grid. Sold exactly as pictured. Please review the detailed close-up photos to verify condition and patent details.
