A classic antique Doulton Burslem blush ivory floral pitcher.Production Era: Given the distinctive backstamp style and design pattern, these hand-painted blush ivory pieces were manufactured in England during the late Victorian era, precisely between 1891 and 1902. In 1901, the factory received its Royal Warrant and transitioned into what we know today as Royal Doulton.Design Elements: The soft, naturalistic flower motifs and sponge-gilded accents are signature work from the Burslem artists' studio during this time. App 3 3/4” H A late Victorian Doulton Lambeth "Chine Ware" ewer (or handled jug), produced using the highly collectible Doulton & Slater’s Patent technique.Design & Production TechniqueThe Slater Patent Method: The textured, fabric-like background on the body of the jug was created by pressing real lace or woven textiles directly into the wet clay before it was fired. This unique process was jointly patented by Henry Doulton and factory manager John Slater in 1882.Aesthetic Details: The piece features hand-painted, raised enamel chrysanthemums or floral motifs in a striking turquoise and white, highlighted against a heavily stippled gold gilt background. The neck, foot, and elegant handle are finished in a dark, glossy mottled glaze.Age & IdentificationProduction Era: Based on the impressed stamp format ("Doulton Lambeth England" without a crown or royal warrant), the piece dates between 1891 and 1902. The word "England" was added after 1891 to comply with US import laws, and the company transitioned to the "Royal Doulton" branding after receiving their Royal Warrant in 1901–1902. 11” H
