Description

True matching pair of authentic late 19th-century Bohemian art glass vases. Crafted from heavy, high-gloss "black glass" blanks, they reveal a beautiful, deep royal amethyst-purple transparency when held up to natural sunlight—the definitive signature of genuine Victorian-era manufacturing. Both pieces feature masterfully executed, hand-painted high enamel decorations depicting vibrant hummingbirds amidst blooming water lilies, green foliage, and delicate gold gilt accents. The underside of both bases displays a polished pontil scar from being hand-blown, alongside a fine, hand-brushed white enamel studio ledger number ("12."), identifying the pattern and workshop origin. • Origin: Northern Bohemia (Czech/German border region; style of Harrach/Moser) • Period: Late Victorian (c. 1880–1900) • Material: Hand-Blown Black Amethyst Glass & Enamel Please note -there is a slight chip on the rim of one vase
