Description

Up for auction is a beautiful, highly collectible 5-piece estate lot of vintage souvenirs and decorative art pieces showcasing the traditional Black Forest (Schwarzwald) sunset landscape motif. This coordinated lot features hand-painted German majolica pottery alongside a charming souvenir brass cowbell, making it an excellent addition for collectors of European folk art or vintage regional decor. What’s Included: • SMF Schramberg Majolica Vase (Approx. 8.5" H): Features a detailed hand-painted scene of a rustic thatched-roof Black Forest chalet nestled under a dramatic orange-yellow sunset. Clearly marked on the base with the classic shield emblem: “Majolika SMF Schramberg Handgemalt 12”. • SMF Schramberg Matching Round Plate/Dish (Approx. 6.5" Diameter): Coordinates perfectly with the vase, displaying the identical sunset chalet motif. Unmarked on the reverse but guaranteed an authentic match to the set. • SMF Schramberg Heart-Shaped Decanter / Flask (Approx. 5" H): A unique, bulbous liquor flask displaying the same hand-painted cottage landscape. Features its original cork and dark green ball stopper. • Zell Georg Schmider Majolica Ashtray (Approx. 5.5" W): A gorgeous 3-slot ceramic ashtray featuring a matching Black Forest chalet scene at sunset. Stamped on the bottom with the “Zell Handgemalt - Waldhaus - Schwarzwald” maker's mark and impressed mold number 3578. • Souvenir Brass Cowbell (Approx. 2.25" H / 3.5" total with strap): A small, resonant brass bell decorated with a colorful enamel-style decal of a traditional alpine chalet. Fitted with its original woven fabric hanging strap featuring embroidered evergreen trees and houses. Includes a heavy metal clapper inside. Condition Report All pieces are in excellent vintage condition with vibrant colors and paint retention. No major chips, cracks, or repairs are visible. The pottery shows light, age-appropriate crazing under the glaze which is entirely typical and expected for majolica ceramics of this era (circa 1920s–1950s). The brass bell displays a lovely warm, unpolished patina. Please review all photos with the measuring tape for exact scale and cosmetic condition details.
