Original industrial steel factory stool manufactured by Garrett Tubular Products, Garrett, Indiana. The underside of the seat and mounting plate are clearly stenciled: “GARRETT TUBULAR PRODUCTS – GARRETT, INDIANA” and bear a factory date stamp reading: “FEB 24 194_” (the final digit of the year is obscured in the stamping and cannot be read with certainty). This stool features a solid round steel seat, a single central steel column, and a heavy four-leg, cross-base construction. All joints appear factory-welded. The surface retains its original industrial paint and finish with heavy, honest wear from use. This is an authentic mid-20th-century American industrial seating piece, made for factory or shop floor use and offered in as-found condition.
